The ribbon and reed motif experienced a revival during the neoclassical period in Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries. Inspired by the classical art and architecture of ancient Greece and Rome, neoclassical designers and craftsmen incorporated the motif into their work, using it to embellish furniture, decorative objects, and architectural details.

Each knob measures approximately 2 1/8 across. The spare door knob set includes two knobs and a passage spindle.
