These Nautical door knockers are made from solid brass and they are made the old fashioned way. We pour molten brass into highly detailed sand cast molds - and then grind and polish the pieces by hand. The Anchor and the back plate are made by hand and each is hand polished. The wall mount screws are solid steel - just like they were made a hundred years ago.

The anchor was a popular symbol in Colonial America because it was not only part of the ship, but because it was a strong connection to a stable life - the Anchor in Colonial America through the Victorian Era symbolized stability and strength.
